Happy Friday,
This week has been a blurr! I apologize for not updating as frequent as normal, it has been BUSY!
This weekend there a few things that need to be done if not already...
Homework:
Language Arts:
- All 3 paragraphs need to be written, edited and reedited for Monday morning. As a team we will be taking our work apart sentence by sentence at a later date, but I am looking for their best work now.
- Picture Paragraph must be done by 7am Monday morning - that is when printing will start. Please ensure these paragraphs are written in Cambria, 16 font, justified to the left, bolded title.
-
French: Ingredients and Pizza due Monday, if not done.
Science: Students started to learn about the moon and its phases today! We took some time to review each phase and how it occurs. In their visual arts books they started to draw and learn from the picture below. Both sets of moons, labels and the earth must be drawn for Monday. ( Most students have already completed this, but I will attach the picture below.)
Night Sky Journal & Moon Phases:
Each student received a journal package today for their work. Our class is going to take 5 minutes every night to fill out the moon's phase, illustration and notes ( wonder and discovered).
It's important that every night the journal is taken out and filled in so students have a better understanding of the Moon's phases. If it is too cloudy to see the moon, there are websites to help on the back of their instructions paper. Perhaps take a look at the package tonight to become more comfortable with it.
Every student has a particular date that they will have to pay extra attention to. If your date was the 14th for example you would fill out your page as usual, but then do a small art piece to show what the moon looked like that night. The paper is small, but the options are endless ( as long as it can be hung on the bulletin board!) 2d or 3d is acceptable!
The "New Moon" starts on Sunday, which is when the first journal needs to be completed by EVERYONE. Monday is being done by a classmate ( as most will be super busy) and we will all look at hers to fill in our charts on Tuesday! ( If you can do Monday night's journal that is awesome, if not that is okay we will make sure everyone has the information they need Tuesday).
This may seem a tad confusing, however all of the kiddos have been well versed in what they need to do, the directions are on their sheet and websites are on the back, for just in case moments!
- If you still have questions over the weekend or throughout the month don't hesitate to email.
