Hello Hello!
This is what is happening right now in room # 28. Look to the bottom for homework :) Social Studies: Students are in groups creating a documentary/news report on a specific question centered around the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. They are currently researching their question and will move onto planning on Friday (Hopefully). They will have the week to begin to plan, using the story board provided and a few days to ensure they are well practiced. Once they finish the story board they have one day to film their documentary, meaning they have to be well prepared and rehearsed. Student work will be assessed individually and in groups for this task. Math: We are going to finish up Integers this week and are moving onto Input and Output charts next week. This is our first step into Algebra :) Science: Students have begun to research and create experiments to prove a theory about air. In groups they are learning the importance of using the Scientific Method and are organizing their experiments to the class in that format. Presentations will begin tomorrow, ( 18th). All materials have been/ are be gathered by students independently. Language Arts: Writing a newspaper article is a large part of the PAT in June. We started writing articles this week and tomorrow we will use the PAT Marking Guide to review what is required. After putting that rubric into kid friendly language we are using exemplars to help us decide what a 1,2,3,4 is. The next step is to write an article on our Notable :) Homework: - Science materials and Method due Friday. - Article due Thursday the 18th ( we edited with a peer today) - Social research is due by Friday / Monday at the latest.
